3.09 Dallas Golden Tornadoes - TE Tyler Higbee

In the real world: Higbee comes into the pros with more than enough upside to be the Rams' starting tight end--their current starter Lance Kendricks, who has had more than 32 receptions only once in five seasons--but he comes with a couple red flags. He missed six games last season with a knee injury. Three weeks before the NFL Draft, he was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree evading police and public intoxication. Higbee pled not guilty on May 5, claiming he was acting in self-defense.
In the TUFF world: San Diego originally had this pick, but traded it to Detroit last year, and Detroit traded it to Dallas for a 2017 3rd-rounder. The Golden Tornadoes were looking for another tight end--their only other tight end is Clive Walford, drafted just last year--and missed out on the top two rookie TEs this year (Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper). Anyway, injuries and off-field issues are not as big a deal in this round as they would be in Round 1.
