2.12 Green Bay Ground Hogs - WR Mike Thomas

In the real world: Sigmund Bloom is really big on this prospect from Southern Mississippi: "The big play game in the air and ability to summon up something extra when the play calls for it gives me a lot of confidence in Thomas' ability to get even better after coming from modest beginnings." Works hard, but questions abound about how well he can separate on the NFL level. He lands with the Los Angeles Rams, who drafted him in Round 6; their top wideouts are Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt, but every other spot on the WR corps is up for grabs. Not to be confused with the New Orleans Saints' 2nd-round pick or the former Jacksonville Jaguar.
In the TUFF world: Green Bay traded up with Pittsburgh from 2.14 to get this pick. They had to cough up their third-rounder next year to make it happen. It seems like a bit of a steep price considering that Braxton Miller was still on the board, there was no clear-cut best wide receiver after Miller, it was just two lousy spots, and next year's draft promises to be much richer with talent than this year's. Maybe how Matt Waldman reviewed his performance had something to do with it.
